SAME FIVE

About

Five questions a day, the same for everyone.

Same Five is a free daily challenge in the browser. Every day at midnight UTC, five new questions go live, and everyone in the world gets exactly the same five. You have twenty seconds for each question and one official attempt. Then you see your score and how it compares with everyone else who played that day.

Most quiz games give each player different questions, so a score on its own says very little. Here the questions are shared, so a score means something: you can compare it with a friend's, with yesterday's, or with the whole day's field. That is the whole idea, and the rest of the game is built around keeping that comparison fair.

Where the questions come from

The five are not trivia alone. Each day mixes categories — logic, patterns, visual puzzles, memory, wordplay, estimation, general knowledge, prediction, speed and small puzzles — with no more than two from the same category. The difficulty follows a fixed curve: two easier questions, two medium and one harder.

A person reviews every question before it is used, and factual questions are checked against a source. If a question still turns out to be wrong, it is voided and everyone's score is rescaled to the remaining questions, so nobody is helped or hurt by the mistake. Every result page has a way to report a problem with a question.

Keeping it fair

The clock is kept by our server, not by your device, so a slow connection never costs you time you did not use. Speed never adds points; it only breaks ties between equal scores, which rewards getting it right over rushing. Correct answers are only revealed once the day's challenge has closed, so they cannot be passed around while people are still playing.

Automated checks flag unusual results, and a person decides what happens to them. The full rules are in the Terms of Service.

Free to play

The daily challenge is free and does not need an account. A free account keeps your streak and results on any device and includes three practice sessions a day. Same Five Pro is an optional subscription for personalised training; the daily challenge will never require it. We may also show advertising in the future to help keep the game free; ads are not shown today, and the Privacy Policy explains what would change.
