  1. Question 01 · Prediction · Easier · Pick one

You roll one fair six-sided die. Which is most likely?

    • Rolling a 6
    • Rolling an even number✓ Correct answer
    • Rolling a 1 or a 2
    • They are equally likely

Even covers 3 of 6 faces; a 6 covers 1; a 1 or 2 covers 2. With equally likely outcomes, the event covering the most outcomes is the most likely.

  2. Question 02 · Speed · Easier · Pick one

    Which is the largest: 0.7, 0.65, 0.607 or 0.07?

    • 0.7✓ Correct answer
    • 0.65
    • 0.607
    • 0.07

Compare the tenths first: 0.7 has 7 tenths, 0.65 and 0.607 have 6, and 0.07 has none. Writing them to the same length (0.700, 0.650, 0.607, 0.070) removes the illusion that more digits means bigger.

  3. Question 03 · Knowledge · Medium · Put in order

Order these giant planets by distance from the Sun, closest first.

    Correct order

    1. Jupiter
    2. Saturn
    3. Uranus
    4. Neptune

The outer planets go Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune — each roughly twice as far out as the one before it, except Neptune.

  4. Question 04 · Prediction · Medium · Pick a point on a scale

A bag has 3 red and 2 blue marbles. You draw a red one and keep it out. What is the chance the next marble is red?

    • 2 in 5
    • 1 in 2✓ Correct answer
    • 3 in 5
    • 3 in 4

After a red is removed, 2 red remain among 4 marbles: 2/4 = 1/2. Drawing without putting back changes the chances for the next draw.

  5. Question 05 · Logic · Harder · Put in order

Four cars queue at a light. Red is somewhere ahead of blue. Green is directly behind red. White is at one end of the queue but not next to green. Blue is not last. Order them from the front.

    Correct order

    1. Red
    2. Green
    3. Blue
    4. White

Green directly behind red leaves red 1st, 2nd or 3rd; blue must be behind red, so red isn't 3rd. With red 2nd, white would be 1st and blue last — not allowed. So red 1st, green 2nd, blue 3rd, white last (not next to green).
